Outpatient Treatment Options

When re-entering school or the workforce after detox and addiction treatment, an outpatient program can support sober living and relapse prevention. Through New Dawn’s IOP and Day Programs in Sacramento, you can enjoy discreet and confidential help in the form of group sessions.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment

New Dawn’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for drug and alcohol addiction is for individuals who have recently graduated from a Detox or Residential Treatment program. The IOP program is also for moderate users of drugs, alcohol, and/or prescription pills who are not in need of Detox or 24-hour care. We currently offer three intensive outpatient locations. The Citrus Heights location is near highway 80, the Sacramento location is near Rancho Cordova and close to highway 50 and our newest location is in Reno Nevada. Before admission, a confidential assessment is provided at no cost. We also verify insurance benefits for you so that you will know whether or not there is any out-of-pocket cost.

What to Expect

Intensive outpatient treatment involves daily group therapy and individual counseling two days a week. There are four main areas of focus. First, we teach about coping skills that can replace the urge to drink or use drugs. Second, we go over relapse prevention tools and discuss what to do to prevent a relapse from getting out of control. Third, we discuss neurobiology of addiction to help you better understand how drug and alcohol abuse affects brain chemistry and judgment. Fourth, we practice patient-centered treatment planning because we understand that each person has unique struggles, goals and objectives. Group and individual family counseling is also an important part of the program. Family members learn what to expect, how they can best support their loved one, and how to work through any anger or resentments they may have. Intensive Outpatient Treatment generally lasts between six and eight weeks.

Why Choose New Dawn Intensive Outpatient Treatment?

New Dawn has morning, afternoon and evening classes in order to fit anyone’s schedule. Our locations are conveniently located within minutes of either highway 50 or highway 80. The Intensive Outpatient treatment centers are located in private office settings, not in hospitals. We are one of the only intensive outpatient treatment centers in the country offering free Lifetime Aftercare for all program graduates. And because we offer all levels of care, if there is a relapse we can quickly get you into either the Medically Supervised Detox or Residential Treatment program (located just 30 minutes from downtown Sacramento). New Dawn is a few family owned and operated behavioral health organization. We have helped thousands successfully recover from this disease over the past 30 years. Call us today to find out more about how we can help you start recovery and get your life back.

Day Treatment

Day Treatment consists of 6 hours per day of group and individual therapy, up to five days per week. This program is designed for those who need additional structure, support, and supervision in order to sustain or stabilize their recovery process. Individuals who are transitioning from inpatient, Detox or residential treatment can also benefit from the individual and group therapy intensity that this program offers. We provide drug testing at regular intervals during the program to ensure compliance with sobriety requirements. New Dawn understands that relapse is a regular part of recovery, and unlike most other programs, we do not discharge clients who relapse. We help them minimize the effects of their relapse, and work with them to get them back on track in their recovery.

What Happens after Day Treatment?

Our Day Treatment participants will step down into the Intensive Outpatient Program, usually after a few weeks. This step down process is important because relapse rates average about 60% for individuals in treatment. Continuation of treatment in a less intensive outpatient program gives individuals a lot more freedom to explore recovery on their own and to test their abilities to stay sober without constant supervision and support. However, the three hours of individual and group therapy offered Monday – Friday offers a minimum level of stability and support to make lasting recovery possible during the transitional phase back into everyday life outside of an intensive treatment structure.

Does My Insurance Cover Day Treatment?

In most cases, insurance will cover most, if not all of your treatment at New Dawn, regardless of which program or level of care you are enrolled. The reason for this is that we are one of the few CARF accredited programs in Sacramento, and most insurance companies will not partner with a treatment provider unless they have an accreditation, even if they are licensed by the State of California. Before you admit into any of our programs, we will verify your insurance benefits for you and let you know if you have any out-of-pocket costs associated with your treatment. We do not accept Medicare, Medical, or Kaiser.

How Can I Pay for Treatment?

Private Cash Pay

If you do not have insurance or prefer to pay cash out of pocket, please reach out for a confidential call to discuss treatment options as well as cost.

Insurance is accepted.

Many alcohol and drug rehab centers will advertise that “insurance is accepted”, but if you look at the fine print on their website, they will usually disclose that YOU are responsible for billing your insurance company. This means that they are actually NOT a preferred provider with your health plan, and that you will have to pay the FULL cost of treatment at admission. That is a big risk to take with tens of thousands of dollars, and a heavy burden to carry while in early recovery.

Insurance Verification You Can Trust

At New Dawn, there is no fine print when we say that insurance is accepted. We will verify your benefits for you, and tell you during the pre-admission process exactly what your out-of-pocket expenses will be. We will never charge you more than your copay or deductible for covered services, and we are experts at getting as much treatment authorized as your insurance will allow. Billing your insurance is also something we do on your behalf, so that you can focus on what matters most – your recovery.

Many insurance plans cover up to 100% of our costs. Call us for a confidential insurance verification, and get started on your road to recovery today.

Financing is Available

We have a number of affordable treatment options available that are designed to make recovery accessible without causing financial strain. In fact, we have a Treatment Pricing Guarantee that promises to match the cost of any comparable treatment center.
